Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) was established on 8th June 1993 through enactment of the Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission Act, 1993 with the purpose of protecting the investors in securities, developing the capital market, and making rules concerning related matters.

This year in 2018, BSEC has completed its 25 years of journey laying the capital market infrastructure on strong foundation in physical, technological and legal backbone. As result of efforts over the years, the market capitalization has expanded to 246 times since inception of the BSEC. The market is now capable to contribute a lot more in the economy towards achievement of a developed country.

On the eve of Silver Jubilee of BSEC, Honorable President Mr. Md. Abdul Hamid, Honorable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Honorable Finance Minister Mr. Abul Maal Abdul Muhith, Honorable Housing & Public Works Minister Engineer Mosharraf Hossain, Honorable Economic Adviser to the Prime Minister Dr. Mashiur Rahman, Honorable State Minister for Finance and Planning Mr. M.A. Mannan, Honorable Chairman of Parliamentary Standing Committee for the Ministry of Finance Dr. Md.
